Writemeanything is an entity registered in Malta with the VAT registration number 17998630 and with registered address at 19, Main Street, Balzan.  

Throughout this policy we will refer to Data Protection Laws.  This shall mean the EU General Data Protection Regulation (EU 2016/679) or ‘GDPR’, and the Data Protection Act (Chapter 586 of the Laws of Malta) together with any subsidiary legislation published under the authority of those laws. 

In terms of the Data Protection Laws and for the purposes of this policy Jo Caruana shall be the Data Controller, while any user of this website shall be the Data Subject.

Information we collect

The personal information that you are asked to provide, and the reasons why you are asked to provide it, as well as the persons or entities outside Mini Malta will be made clear to you at the point we ask you to provide your personal information.

When you register for an Account, we may ask for your contact information, including items such as name, company name, address, email address, and telephone number.

GDPR Data Protection Rights

We would like to make sure you are fully aware of all of your data protection rights, and that Mini Malta shall use its best endeavours to ensure that all personal data that you provide to us will be processed in accordance with Data Protection Laws. Amongst other things, as a Data Subject this means that every user is entitled to the following:

The right to access – You have the right to know what personal data we hold in your regards, and you may request copies of your personal data. Before we process your request it will be necessary to provide us with some sort of identity document so that we may verify that we are granting access and information to the correct person.  All requests for access should be made in writing, using the contact information available here. Initial requests will be addressed free of charge, however subsequent requests may attract a small administrative fee of which we will inform you beforehand.

The right to rectification – You have the right to request that we correct any information you believe is inaccurate. You also have the right to request that we complete the information you believe is incomplete.

The right to erasure – You have the right to request that we erase your personal data, under certain conditions.

The right to restrict processing – You have the right to request that we restrict the processing of your personal data, under certain conditions. This means that your personal data may be suppressed or held in suspense for a determinate time, depending on the circumstances for which the restriction is requested.

The right to object to processing – You have the right to object to our processing of your personal data, under certain conditions.

The right to data portability – You have the right to request that we transfer the data that we have collected to another organization, or directly to you, under certain conditions.

If you make a request, we have one month to respond to you. If you would like to exercise any of these rights, please contact us.

Data Retention

We will process your personal data for such time as you remain a user of this website or of any of the services provided by Mini Malta. You retain the right to request the deletion of your data at any point during this time, however we will retain a record of any requests, consents or instructions you may give us during such time.

If your account remains inactive for an uninterrupted period of two years it will be deleted in full, including any data it contains. You will receive a warning email of this around one month before such deletion effectively occurs.

In those cases where you have consented to your personal data be transferred to third parties other than Mini Malta, the retention of your personal data will be subject to the policies, terms and conditions of such other third parties.    

Children’s Information

Another part of our priority is adding protection for children while using the internet. We encourage parents and guardians to observe, participate in, and/or monitor and guide their online activity.

Mini Malta does not knowingly collect any Personal Identifiable Information from children under the age of 13. If you think that your child provided this kind of information on our website, we strongly encourage you to contact us immediately and we will do our best efforts to promptly remove such information from our records.

Any requests for the exercise of any of the Data Subject rights listed above on behalf of any minor may need to be accompanied by evidence that the person making such request is effectively the person enjoying parental authority for the minor in question.

Your Right to Query or Complain

In terms of the Data Protection Laws you are reminded that in all those cases were, after having contacted us, we do not provide you with a satisfactory remedy for your Data Subject rights, you are reminded that you may forward your query or complaint to the Office of the Information & Data Protection Commissioner, which is accessible through the website www.idpc.org.mt 

Jurisdiction

The Privacy Policy shall be subject to, and interpreted in accordance to, the laws of Malta, and in the event of any dispute arising from or otherwise directly connected to this Privacy Policy, the Courts and Tribunals of Malta shall enjoy exclusive jurisdiction in determining the matter.
